The value of world trade in goods, excluding Intra EU-27 trade, was about EUR 13 000 billion in 2009. The European Union is the leading trader, accounting for 17% of total world trade. The United States was the second biggest trader with a share of 14%, followed by China (12%), Japan (6%) and Canada (3%).
